ONE CHANGE
Here's what changed. Bella never jumped off the cliff. That means Alice never saw it happen - the Volturi have no idea that she's alive and knows about vampires. So the Cullens have stayed away from Forks because of Edward's wishes.
Another new girl moves to the small town of Forks, Washington - Jillian Sinsee. She's as badass as they get, with tattoos, piercings, and a police record. She smokes, and has done her fair share and drinking and drugs.
Jacob Black has just proposed to Bella, and realizing that Edward's not coming back she accepts it. She doesn't realize that not three days later Jacob meets Jillian, and imprints instantly right after she accepted. Heartbroken, she breaks off the marriage by force and returns to the depressed state that Jacob had brought her out of.
Alice saw it all, and saw something else. Bella dead. She runs back off to Forks without a word, and Jasper follows. The whole family ends up coming back, Edward included. But what happens when Edward and Bella meet again, but Bella isn't in love with him anymore? She'd fallen out of love, and is now in love with Jacob. The one she can't happen.
The killings in Seattle start up again - the work of Victoria. It attracts the Volturi, and they are thinking about visiting if it isn't handled with soon. Alice sees the possibility and is trying to work with the wolves. Too bad they've learned about Jillian's past with vampires and hate them even more.
