It was Millenniums ago when a terrible Machine Cult was waging war against the Confederate Planets of the Universe. The Machine Cult was a fanatic society, who believed they where created from a machine God. Through written Codex's this Cult spread its fanatic believe all over the Universe. Their goal was to convert all or destroy all.
When the Confederate Planets of the Universe noticed the rising threat they have passed a Law for all the participating Planets to proclaim the Machine Cult to be heresy against any believes and to be banned. With this Proclamation a war started, the fanatics of the Machine Cult created new War Machines, their people themselves where Cyborgs. Converted to link up with any machine that they produced and to interact faster with anyone who linked up to their network.
After almost one century of war the Confederate Planets where at the breaking point, hundreds of planets where devastated by the Machines used by the Cult. Fertile and planets with life turned into a burning hell of Volcanoes as mountains, molten lava as rivers, and dry dusty soil as land. When doomed seemed close to the Confederate Planets, a spark of hope flared up. The Machine Cults Forces where at Tileana, the Capitol of the Confederate Planets. A small force penetrated the home planet of Kilgor and ventured deep into the Machine Cults heart of production. There they managed to set a bomb and destroyed the heart of the planet stopping all communications Networks and production lines of the Machine Cult. With the defeat of the Machine Cult peace returned to the Universe. The coordinated of Kilgor where deleted out of every data bank and was declared a Dead Zone, Protected by patrolling battleships and support stations.
But it was now the year 6002, while war raged among planets and the new Commonwealth tried to bring peace back to the Universe. A hidden power still glowed in the far corners out of the reach of any living planet. A small part of the Machine Cult survived and has begun the rebuilding of a great Army for over century's. Now they have showed their faces once more, a new threat is upon this Universe...
